Lionheart Basketball Team Information

Everything Our Team Needs to Roar Forward

Find the expectations, practice and game-day guidance, communication tips, and packing reminders that help fourth-grade players and families stay ready all season.

Growing Players and Teammates Together

Lionheart Basketball gives fourth graders a place to learn the game, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a team. Players should arrive ready to try, listen to coaches, treat everyone kindly, and encourage teammates through mistakes and successes. Families can help by checking the team calendar, getting players to practices and games on time, and letting coaches know about absences as early as possible. For every session, bring basketball shoes, a water bottle, and a positive attitude; on game days, bring the team uniform, too. Together, we can make this a season of steady growth and shared fun.

How We Show Up

The Lionheart Way, On and Off the Court

Give Your Best Effort

Run hard, practice new skills, and keep trying when a drill feels difficult.

Respect Everyone

Speak kindly to coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials, even when emotions run high.

Play Fair

Follow the rules, accept calls, and celebrate good plays on both sides.

Listen and Learn

Give coaches your attention, ask questions, and put feedback into action.

Lift Up Teammates

Offer a high five, share the ball, and help others bounce back after mistakes.

Be Ready to Practice

Arrive on time with basketball shoes and water so the team can get started together.

Stay Game-Day Ready

Bring your uniform, check the schedule, and be ready to warm up with the team.

Keep Families in the Loop

Check team updates and let coaches know early if you cannot attend.

Before, During & After the Game

A simple routine helps every Lionheart player arrive ready, stay focused, and get home safely.

1

Arrive Ready

Check the team calendar for the time and location. Arrive early enough to check in with a coach, lace up, and join warmups; a parent or guardian should confirm the pickup plan.

2

Listen, Play & Encourage

Players follow coach instructions, give their best effort, and support teammates. Families cheer positively and let coaches handle on-court direction.

3

Huddle & Head Home

Players stay for the closing huddle, collect their belongings, and check out with a coach before leaving with their designated adult.

Questions Families Ask

Find quick answers about attendance, game days, team updates, and supporting your young athlete.

What if my player misses a practice?

Let the coach know as soon as you can. Regular attendance helps players build skills and learn to work together, but we understand that family schedules change.

How is playing time decided?

Coaches work to give every player opportunities to participate while considering attendance, effort, development, and the needs of each game. At this age, learning and confidence come first.

Where can I find practice and game times?

Check the team calendar for upcoming practices, games, locations, and start times. Review it regularly so your player knows what to expect.

How will we hear about schedule changes?

Coaches will share updates through the team’s usual communication channel. Please check messages before heading out, especially when weather or venue availability may affect plans.

What should my player bring?

Bring basketball shoes, comfortable athletic clothes, a labeled water bottle, and a ready-to-learn attitude. For games, check coach messages for any uniform or arrival instructions.

How can families support players on game day?

Cheer for effort, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Let coaches coach and players play, then ask your child what they enjoyed or learned afterward.

Make Every Team Day Count

Review the calendar, stay connected with coaches, and help your player arrive on time with water, gear, and a willingness to learn. Let’s Roar Forward together.
